Derry is Australia's answer to Shakira?

Reigan Derry is a sexy 17 year old contestant in the latest series of Australian Idol. Industry experts have claimed that she may well be Australia's own Shakira. Despite the harsh criticism she received from the judges, she has a strong following. Check out this her audition on YouTube.

It seems that Australian Idol drags everyone out of the woodwork. Former Big Brother housemate, Tim Brunero, has his own podcast about the show.

China's Firewall - Breaking the digital bricks

There's a great audio feed from npr.org on how China's internet users can get around their government's censorship. There's been a lot of talk about this especially with Google bowing to the Chinese censors when they debuted their Chinese search engine and now that they are storing the search records outside China to stop the government demanding their files.

Biscuit city eaten!

A department store in London, Selfridges, commissioned an installation by Chinese artist Song Dong. The city is made out of biscuits, 72,000 of them! The temptation to eat the city overcame everyone as Dong ordered onlookers to tuck in. As Homer Simpson would say, "Mmmmm... biscuits."

Amazon gets sexy with shopbop.com

Amazon.com has purchased online fashion retailer shopbop.com. The site sells low-key racy outfits like the one pictured and is geared towards the casual designer-chic market. It also features popular designers such as Hanky Panky, Juicy Couture, Sass & Bide and UGG Australia.
